Life is short

In life everyone thinks at times they will live forever. This simply is not the case. This week I had the additional life experience of knowing a young person whose life was cut short by a tragic accident.

We leave our homes and our families each and everyday understanding that we will see them again "later". We leave each other at times frustrated, angry or just nonchalant thinking that we are going to see each other later in the day, week or month.

Life is precious and I think of this young man and have a vivid memory of when I last saw him. Smiling face and an enthusiastic hello and how are you doing! We say the proverbial,"great and good to see you too!" We go on about our business....

Now fast forward about a year and now I'm looking at pictures that show the young fella when he was 4 years old playing in the street with his friends and my sons. The flood of memories and those pictures are all that I have left of the boy or young man. He will not stop by and say "hello" or stop by and say "good to see you"! Life has changed again for me and life has stopped in time for the family and friends of the young man that we all knew at Tyler...

Moral of my message, don't leave angry, frustrated or even confused about how you feel about the person you love or care for. Hug them, love them, and tell them that each and every time you see them or talk to them.

I believe in God and know and pray that I will see all of them again!

Rest in Peace Ty we will miss you here a lot!!!
